Nov 7th, still presenting

China:

  • communist state
  • a communist state is a system of government in which the state plans and controls the economy and every so often the authoritarian party holds power
  • government choose prices of cars and big items
  • Xi Jinping: been in office for 2 years, originally Presidents in China serve 10 years
  • Xi Jinping: got a total of 2,937 votes. four delegates voted against him, four abstained, and 38 did not vote

Canada:


  • have a parliamentary government
  • have been a parliamentary government since 1867
  • political parties and leaders:  conservative party- Stephen Harper
  • Green party- Elizabeth May
  • Liberal Party- Justin Trudeau
  • New Democratic Party- Thomas Mulcair
  • the prime minister is the leader of the government
  • anyone that is over the age of 18 can be Prime Minister
  • Leaders have no term limits
  • Holds election every 4 years


Japan:



  • Japan has a parliamentary system, a constitutional monarchy, and is a unitary state
  • Shinzo Abe is the prime minister.
  • the Emperor is named Akihito
  • Finished on of his terms in 2007 and was re- elected in 2012
